Home is where the heart is

September 1st was a great day for me. After spending labor day with my Florida family, I booked a round trip ticket for California. I haven’t been to the golden state since leaving in 2004. I’m going because it’s been so long since I’ve seen my kids, my family and my friends. I have a few people to thank for this. Have to thank Danielle for finding great rates on a round trip ticket. Carrie for the early birthday present. Without you, it would have been just a pipe dream. Susanna for kicking me in the ass and letting me realize that there are no excuses. Not when it comes to one’s family.
So I’m off into the big blue mid October. Should be a wonderful weekend.
In other news, God wants to remind me that I’m still in the hurricane state by throwing not just one hurricane at me but two hurricanes at me, a (for now) tropical storm and a tropical depression. All this in the span of two weeks.
Many times I wish I were elsewhere.
