i am into day number 2 of my summer cold. most fun in the 100° and 80% humidity that we have been enjoying. i started to feel better yesterday, but then i had to move 10 man sized file cabinets from the office next door to the office here. the business that was next door moved to south carolina, apparently on purpose, and they left a whole hoard of shelves, desks, and file cabinets behind for the taking. well i needed some, so i took 3 for the office here, 1 for my house, and i pulled 6 for our other office. then after moving the 10 cabinets, i helped load the spare 6 up onto a flatbed wrecker to be transported to the other office. this was all done outside, under the sun and all its glory.

to top it off, i didn’t get the oppertunity to have any lunch yesterday and i didn’t have a great breakfast. i finnaly left work around 7ish and didn’t get home to eat dinner till 9. oh by the way, soup is good food.

right now, i have the a/c turned down to 70° only it feel like its in the upper 90s.

so yes, i’m dying.

well not really, i’ve been in far worse than this. like that one time i was working the long beach blues festival in well over 100° heat while suffering from the flu and no drinking water to speak of anywhere! i only lived through it because i was next to the sno-cone vendor. then i really had fun trying to get home at 10pm. especially when the lbpd had my street closed because swat had an armed robbery in progress across the street from my apt.

happy times!

i’m glad to hear that discovery landed safely in edwards afb. i guess hurricane season isn’t the best time to launch and land a shuttle. here’s a thought, why not put the space center in a weather free zone like eastern cali or nevada? no, i guess that would make too much sense.

well i’m off. listening to xm channel 74 “bluesville” and i need to get to work.

ps – great, now i’ve got the swat theme song stuck in my head.

Good point … why is the Kennedy Space Center in a hurricane zone?…
